Best way to migrate SQL version 7 databases to 2000

We are moving all databases from a SQL version 7 server to a version 2000
server. Which of the following is the preferred method?

1) Detach the DB on the version 7 server, move it to the new server via
Windows Explorer and reattach it there.

2) Use SQL Enterprise Mananger with the DTS Export Wizard to "copy objects &
data between SQL server databases" from the version 7 server to the 2000
server.

With the changing of the version, I thought maybe option 2 is best. Thoughts?

best way to migrate dts pkg to other box?

Hi what is the best way to migrate DTS package to other box? Thanks.
The easiest way to move it is to bring it up in the DTS Designer and then
save it onto the other box. Keep in mind now you might also need to change
your connection information when you move it to a new box.

Best Way to migrate databases

Hi all,
What is the best way to migrate all databases from one sql server to
another?
We are buying a new hardware for the database server and we need to move all
databases to the new machine.
Thanks in advance,
Fabio
I like BACKUP and RESTORE, but sp_detach_db and sp_attach_db also work.

First option I would go about is backup/restore. You can consider
detach/attach also.
Thanks
